Carmichael Hospital for Tropical Diseases (CHTD)
Carmichael Hospital for Tropical Diseases is the hospital part of the prestigious and heritage institution, Calcutta School of Tropical Medicine, located at 108 Chitta Ranjan Avenue, Kolkata - 700 073.

Sir Leonard Rogers who had been a pioneer of Tropical Diseases set a hospital and a research institution for Tropical Medicine. The hospital was set up for treating the tropical diseases. The then Bengal Governor General Sir Carmichael laid the foundation stone in 1916 and the hospital building was complete in 1920 with grant received from Government and Private donors. The Hospital has been as named as Carmichael Hospital for Tropical Diseases by the name of the then Governor General of Bengal Lord Carmichael.

Since then, the hospital is best known for treating the tropical diseases for the patients of Eastern India.
